Jointly organised by the Association for International Sports for All  (TAFISA) and the Malaysian Leisure and Recreation Council (MARFIMA), supported  by the Asiania Sport for All Association (ASFAA), the Ministry of Youth &  Sports, Malaysia (MYSM) and the International Youth Centre (IYC), the TAFISA  Sport for All Certified Leadership Course was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia,  from 3rd to 8th May. The Macao Sport Development Board sent four delegates to  attend the training course. 
The Macao government has been dedicated to  promoting the development of Sports for All since the establishment of the  Special Administrative Region. In recent years, the development of Sport for All  has progressed and earned favourable results in different parts of the world.  Hence, one of the main responsibilities of the Macao Sport Development Board is  to keep up to date with the international developing of sport for  all.
The TAFISA Sport for All Certified Leadership Course trains sport  for all personnel from different countries on current information, technology  and skills in addition to developing a systematic network that connects all  international sport for all organisations. It also introduces the latest and the  most effective ways to promote sport for all. The course covers the promotion of  sport for all in terms of philosophy, policy, public health, marketing and  volunteer recruitment etc. Through the training course, participants receive the  latest and most comprehensive knowledge on sports for all. By sending delegates  to attend the course, aside from broadening their horizons, the Board hopes that  delegates will learn from their overseas experiences, creating positive and  active impacts on promoting future development of sports for all in Macao.  
The first course was held in Tehran, the capital of Iran in August 2007,  attracting 40 participants from the Middle Eastern regions. The second course  was held in Lagos, the capital of Nigeria, attracting 50 participants from  different parts of Africa. The course was held in Macao in 2008. Therefore, this  is the second time the course was organised in the Asia Pacific  region.
Participating countries in the programme included Thailand,  Korea, Iraq, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines, Maldives,  Guam, Iran and Macao, with a total of 44 partipants. TAFISA authoritative  scholars from Germany, Malaysia, the Philippines and Japan chaired the  programme. These scholars included the Secretary General of TAFISA Mr. Wolfgang  Baumann, Member of the Sport for All Commission of the International Olympic  Committee (IOC) Dr. Peter Kapustin, Professor of the Graduate School of Human  Development and Environment, Kobe University Dr. Yasuo Yamaguchi. In addition to  lectures on sport for all theories, the six-day course featured a number of  practical activities, aimed at combining the theories and practices.  
Upon completion of the course and passing the examination, all  participants are awarded the Certificate of Completion.
